Business Growth and Recruitment…

2020 will mark PGL’s 10th year trading, and the business growth over the last decade has been enormous. To mark our 10 year anniversary we wanted to give you an insight to not just our site work, but also the work that happens in the office which keeps the business running day to day!

PGL began with three directors, one general office administrator and one surveyor. Fast forward 10 years and now were a growing team of over twelve office based staff, a customer care team, sixteen foremen and over two hundred tradesmen on site.

The recruitment process it now a crucial element to the business with over twenty large sites PGL are constructing. Our recruitment has grown from small adverts out in local news papers to having accounts with Indeed, Facebook and transitioning to online recruitment.

Aimee May, who joined the team in June 2019, has now taken on the role of looking after all of PGL’s recruitment which has become full time position. With over twenty large sites PGL are constructing,

‘Since working at PGL over the last six months, the recruitment for sites has become pivotal in my job role. It has been really interesting developing our strategy and working with new companies such as Facebook and Indeed to modernize how we advertise and recruit.’

‘Having one dedicated person to deal with recruitment also means that we have a better working relationship between the office and our operatives out on site which I think is really important. I’m really excited to see how my role develops over the next year, especially with new clients in the pipeline!’

Aimee’s role includes all training needs are met as well as ensuring all relevant health and safety certifications are in place. She has her hands full!
